Oyo South: Fola Akinosun,  Asanike Asatola Merge With Bimbo Adekanbi

Two leading Senatorial aspirants for Oyo South district under the All Progressives Congress, Chief Fola Akinosun and Asatola Asanike on monday formally withdrawn from the race and declared their wholesome support for Bimbo Adekanmbi.

In his address, Dr. Akinosun opined that his withdrawal from the race is predicated on his belief that Adekanmbi is another kind of him who is well connected to the needs of the people. He applauded Adekanmbi for efficient coordination of his campaign in a manner that speaks to issues and the collective will of the people. Akinosun speaking before his mammoth supporters and coordinators across the 9 local governments in the Senatorial district assured them of Adekanmbi’s commitment to the towering needs of the Senatorial district which is evident in his numerous intervention projects that cut across the district.

Acknowledging the place of Akinosun in the district, Adekanmbi thanked him for his unfettered belief in his aspiration and his bold decision to commit his time and resources to it. He reckoned that Dr. Fola Akinosun is his personal leader and strong voice of wisdom in Oyo State and beyond. He insisted no serious aspirants will toy with his brilliance and support. Dr Fola Akinosun who attended the parley meeting in person with his entire political Machinery described ‘Adekanmbi as a strong willed man with proven integrity, insisting that he sees Adekanmbi as him staying on the track.’

Adekanmbi noted that it is providence that Akinosun and he now has a joint mandate to rescue the district from the portentous and unpropitious representation. He promised to stay true to the letters of the synergy and ensure that Dr. Akinosun’s long term aspirations and desires for the district are fulfilled in him.

Earlier in the day, another Oyo South Senatorial aspirant in APC, Asanike Asatola also withdrew from the race and granted his full Structure to Adekanmbi. He canvassed support for the candidacy of Bimbo Adekanmbi. Also speaking before his teeming supporters he promised to work with Adekanmbi in the actualization of this mandate.It should be noted that it’s NOT a stepping down, but a Merger of Structures to deliver the Oyo South Senatorial Ticket.

The APC Senatorial primary comes up on Friday, 26th May, 2022.
