The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial Candidate in Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole has supported Saki United Football Club with a sum of N200.000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira)
This was in response to the cry for support by the management of the community team after their victory against Sokoto Professionals at the ongoing AITEO Cup.
Wolekanle who is the chairman of Ogbomoso United Football club said he read about the challenges being faced by the club on social media and he decided to reach out to them so as to enable them continue in their game.
“As a club owner, I know how paucity of funds can dampen the morale of a flourishing team and I believe with support from people the feat is achievable.
“Saki united is our pride just like Ogbomoso United and other private clubs. We must do everything possible to ensure that the clubs do not go into extinction.”
Akinwale who pledged continuous support for the team urged Nigerians to encourage talented young Nigerians to develop their soccer skills so they can grow and become pride tomorrow.
