Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, has praised the Director-General of the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), Dr. Debo Akande, for his outstanding contributions to Governor Seyi Makinde’s transformative vision for the agricultural sector.
Akinwole gave the commendation while speaking at the Oyo State International Agribusiness Summit 2025 at the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.
The summit, themed “Expanding Oyo State’s Economy through Agricultural Industrialisation,” brought together key stakeholders, investors, development partners, and policymakers across the agribusiness value chain.
He noted that Dr. Akande has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in repositioning agriculture as a major driver of economic growth and youth empowerment in the state. According to him, OYSADA’s strategic reforms have boosted agricultural productivity, strengthened value chains, and attracted significant investment.
Akinwole emphasized that the agency’s achievements align with Governor Makinde’s commitment to industrialising agriculture, enhancing food security, and creating sustainable job opportunities across all 33 local government areas. He described OYSADA’s approach as pivotal to the state’s long-term economic development.
The LGSC chairman also commended the summit for showcasing Oyo State’s readiness for agribusiness expansion and global partnerships. He reaffirmed the Commission’s support for ongoing reforms and expressed optimism that the agricultural industrialisation agenda would continue to transform the state’s economy.
