Local government workers and other Examinees from all MDAs including newly recruited staff in Oyo State, have continued to commend the President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Adeogun Ayobami Olusegun, for his leadership and commitment to workers’ welfare, particularly during the recently concluded compulsory examination conducted for applicants across the Oyo State public and civil service.
The commendation was contained in a post by the Coordinator of newly recruited staff in Oyo East Local Government, Mr. Fatope, who praised the state NULGE president for his effective coordination and genuine concern for the success of workers who participated in the examination.
According to him, the examination was conducted under strict confidentiality to safeguard its integrity, a process which limited public knowledge of the extensive behind-the-scenes efforts that ensured its smooth and hitch-free conduct. He noted that Comrade Adeogun played a central role in coordinating relevant stakeholders and addressing issues that arose before, during and after the exercise.
Fatope said the NULGE President demonstrated uncommon dedication, stressing that the welfare, progress and career advancement of workers remain a top priority of his administration.
“Those of us who worked closely with him can attest that he takes the success of workers very seriously and never jokes with their progress,” he said.
He also eulogised NULGE state officers and branch executives across the Local Governments, Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), the Primary Health Care Board (PHCB) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), for their relentless commitment during the examination.
According to him, their presence and proactiveness at various examination centres reflected a joint effort to protect the interests of every worker who sat for the examination, irrespective of grade level or cadre.
The successful conduct of the compulsory examination has been described by union members and beneficiaries as a morale booster for newly recruited and existing staff across the state, reinforcing confidence in the leadership of NULGE in Oyo State.
Many workers have since called for sustained cooperation between union leadership and government authorities to further strengthen professionalism, transparency and staff development within the Oyo State public service.
