The lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Oluranti, has called for calm among students of the Blind Centre, Ogbomoso following a recent protest over unresolved issues affecting their welfare.

In a viral video obtained by Karounwi TV and reviewed by our correspondent, the students lamented poor feeding conditions and inadequate welfare, which they said have severely affected their well-being and daily living.

Hon. Oluranti who reacted to the development said she understands the grievances expressed by the students and assured them that steps are being taken to address their concerns.

“I have reached out to the Commissioner for Education Mr Segun Olayiwola and he informed me that the Permanent Secretary has been directed to investigate the matter thoroughly with the aim of finding a lasting solution,” she stated.

She emphasized her ongoing efforts to ensure the matter receives prompt attention from the appropriate authorities.

While commending the students for conducting themselves peacefully, Hon. Bisi Oluranti appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to urgently intervene and provide necessary support to the institution and its students.
