Honourable representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bimbo Olawunmi Oladeji has call  the state lawmakers to see into the means of Curbing the Menace Of Sexual Abuse Acts In the State.

The house discussed this in a bill sponsored by the Ogbomoso born lawmaker who calls for the Honourable house to take cognizance of the increasing rate of sexual abuse by pedophiles and its attendant negative consequences on our societal wellbeing with a view to urging all stakeholders to put measures in place to checkmate the menace”.

The bill researched that over 80 – 90 percent of sexual harassment cases are never reported due to stigmatization adding that the perpetrators are seen rolling around without been punished for the grave offence.

Hon. Oladeji further noted that pedophiles could be a father, mother, uncle, aunt of the victims as sexual harassment is not restricted to a girl child only.

Reacting to the Bill, Majority leader of the House, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin mentioned that the deadly criminal act has been rampant to the length of happening in churches, mosques and other religious scenes.

Honourable representing Afijio State Constituency Hon. Seyi Adisa call on the government to provide a emergency toll free number where people can call to report their experience.

The executive requested, Anti – Corruption Bill, oversee by the majority leader of the house, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin which is set to streamline the activities of all public officials in the state also passes second reading.
