The Oyo State Government has pledged its full support for the successful hosting of the second edition of the Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival, scheduled to hold between December 18 and 22, 2025, in Ogbomoso.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, made the pledge while receiving the Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival Organising Committee, led by its Chairman, Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi (Bunvic), in his office in Ibadan.

Dr. Olatubosun commended the committee for the success of the maiden edition and for maintaining close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He assured that this year’s edition would enjoy even greater government participation and logistical support.

“The Ministry will give adequate support to ensure the second edition surpasses the first. We appreciate your consistency and vision in promoting Ogbomoso’s rich cultural heritage,” Olatubosun said.

Earlier, Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi, the committee chairman, said the visit was to express appreciation to the commissioner for his support during last year’s edition and to seek renewed collaboration for this year’s event.

“We are committed to making this year’s edition more colorful and impactful, and we look forward to stronger partnership with the Ministry,” Odebunmi stated.

The committee members, who accompanied Odebunmi, expressed optimism that the combined efforts of the government and private sector would make the 2025 carnival one of the most memorable cultural events in the state.

In the same vein, the committee also paid a visit to the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, who assured them of his ministry’s readiness to support the project.

Prince Oyelade, who also serves as the Chairman of the Media Committee for the carnival, described the event as a unifying platform for cultural promotion and tourism development in Oyo State.

“The Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival aligns perfectly with the tourism development policy of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, which aims to make Oyo State a major cultural and tourism destination in Nigeria.

The Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival 2025 is expected to feature parades, cultural performances, street shows, exhibitions, and musical concerts aimed at celebrating the heritage, creativity, and hospitality of the Ogbomoso people.
