The Oyo State Government has approved the nomination and appointment of Dr. Saka Balogun as the new Balogun of Ogbomosoland.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade.
According to the statement, Dr. Balogun was unanimously nominated by the Balogun Taiwo Atere-Gbebi Ruling House, following the vacancy created by the death of the former Balogun, Alhaji Shittu Fasina.
The Commissioner cited a document from the office of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, which confirmed that the appointment was made in line with the Chiefs Law Cap. 28, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Dr. Balogun’s appointment takes effect from April 28, 2025.
