The People’s Democratic Party Stakeholders in Oyo East & West State Constituency have expressed their displeasure to the rumour of changing of their concensus candidate of the Party, Hon Idayat Olorede Olaniyan to an Ilorin Born ADC member, Mr Olorunpoto Rahman.
According to the condition of anonymity, we appeal to our Governor Seyi Makinde to honour the decision of the Party by endorsing a Concensus in his presence at Agodi Government House last week. He stressed further that, Idayat Olorede is a bonafide member of PDP and all the leaders and party members have embraced her after her emergence and by extension, all other Aspirants have supported her candidature.
Another Party Chieftain, disclosed that, why should Governor dashed out all assembly members from Oyo town to ADC members. If they want to contest, they should go and test their popularity in their party. And to worse it all, our experience on the the ADC members who got joint ticket with our Chairmen in our Local Governments is too painful, because, they distance from our party in all benefits that supposed to be given to us by the directive of their leaders.
On this note, how come do we want the party members to be happy when someone they never met, mix and related with could just get the back door of the power that be to hijack our ticket.
All leaders of the Constituency are appealing to Governor Seyi Makinde not to toy with the future of our party in Oyo zone because Oyo PDP is fully ready to work for the success of our PDP candidate whom u directed our Leaders to produce a consensus candidate and which we did.
In a voice from a Woman Leader, she begged Governor Seyi Makinde to honour the overall decision of our leaders and help us to give appointments to Coalition members in his office. She lamented, Oyo town is a peculiar town that cherish indigenous candidate, how can Governor be misled to consider an Ilorin Born ADC member as our candidate where we have twenty two House of Assembly Aspirants and the party reached a consensus on Idayat Olorede. She appealed to our Governor to assist our Party in the Constituency, so that, the last episode will not repeat itself.v
