Oyo State Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan has congratulated former Governor Rasidi Ladoja on his installation as the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Recall that Ladoja among others was recently installed as the Otun by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun in line with the tradition of promoting High Chiefs to fill vacuum created in the Olubadan traditional line.
Speaking briefly after paying a congratulatory visit to the former Governor at his Ondo street, Bodija, Ibadan residence, Olaniyan charged the new Otun Olubadan to see the position as a higher call for service to God and humanity, particularly, Ibadanland and Oyo state as a whole.
He said “I came to congratulate our revered father, former Governor Ladoja on his elevation as the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland. It is a honor well deserved and a fulfilment of God’s plan for his life.
“We can only pray that God grants him good health, long life and more wisdom to serve humanity longer.
“With the elevation, he gets a step closer to the big dream. We pray that God will grant his desires to fulfill the lifelong dream.
“I have no doubt in his capacity and capabilities as an elder statesman to renew his commitment to the service of Ibadanland, Oyo state, the Yoruba race and humanity in general.
“We are looking up to him for leadership and we assure him of our support and commitment in the discharge of the tasks and responsibilities that come with the new title.
“Once again, I say congratulations to our great father and leader.”
