Oyo Assembly Vows to Conduct Thorough Screening For Commissioner Nominees

The Oyo State House of Assembly has on Thursday promised to conduct a proper scrutinization for the Oyo state commissioner nominees to bring in set of competence individuals in the cabinet.

The house made this promised through its speaker Hon. Debo Ogundoyin while reacting to the names of Nominees listed in a letter from the executive passed and read out by the legislative arm.

It could be recalled that the executive arm of Oyo state government sent the list of 14 commissioners which include former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Kehinde Ayoola, a former aide of Ex-Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, the Director-General of Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation, Chief Bayo Lawal, son of former Assembly speaker, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Mr Seun Asamu, two professors, a former female lawmaker among others for screening by the house.

The house however urged all Nominees to submit 14 copies of their Curriculum Vitae and credentials to the office of the clerk of the house on or before Friday 2nd of August, 2019.

While attending to newsmen after the plenary ,Ogundoyin also noted that the personalities nominated by Governor Seyi Makinde are intellectuals with wealth of knowledge from their various field to improve affairs of the state.

“If you examining the nominees and the personalities critically, you will see that they are more of technocrats than politicians.”

“The nominees are still coming for screening soon and we assure the good people of Oyo State that due diligence will be be done to ensure round pegs and in round holes,” he added.
