Members of the Oyo State House Of Assembly has on Tuesday agreed for a motion to regulate activities of commercial motorcyclists in the state.
The motion which was titled, “Urgent Need To Regulate The Activities Of Commercial Motorcyclists To Curtail Security Threats In The State”, was sponsored by Hon K. T Isiaka, representing Oyo East/West State Constituency.
Isiaka lamented on the massive influx of commercial motorcycle riders to the State and its attendant effects on security.
He therefore urged the House Of Assembly and the State Government to put measures in place to regulating activities of commercial motorcyclists in the State.
Also commenting, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin listed the plans that have been made available to curtail the influx of Okada riders in the state. He therefore called for the adoption of the motion, which was voted for adoption by members of the assembly.
Earlier, a bill seeking to establish the Oyo State Mental Health Service, sponsored by Hon. Soji Adedoyin representing Ogbomosho South State Constituency, was read for the second time to the assembly.
The bill seeks to provide for the protection, care and treatment of the mentally distressed persons and for other connected purposes.
