Oyo Assembly Orders Olorunsogo LG Chairperson, VP to Step Down, Directs House Leader To Take Over

Oyo state House of Assembly has ordered the Chairperson of Olorunsogo local government, Mrs Oluwakemi Juliana Akanni Ika and the Vice chairperson, Hon Badmus Mutiu Adesoji to step down from their positions for two weeks.

This development is coming following petitions from the traditional council and the members of the executive council of the local government area.

The House Of Assembly hence ordered the leader of the Olorunsogo local government legislative arm, Hon. Bamikunle Ezekiel Adetunji to take over to for the period of investigations leveled against the executive.

The petition reads:“With due respect and humility to your person and your office, we the above hereby write to your Excellency, reporting and seeking redress on the attitude of the chairperson of Olorunsogo Local Government Mrs. OLuwakemi Julianah Akanni Ika who has used her office to trend on the rights of the above body.

“Below are the some of grievances agitating our mind that needs urgent attention to salvage the wrecking ship of the PDP Party at the local government level; Lack of respect for the Traditional Council; None payment of our benefit for the past 13 months. None accessibility of the chairperson to the citizens

“Sir, a stitch in time they say saves nine. We are none partisan but have vested interest in your administration and your personality. We want to see you in office beyond 2023 as executive Governor of Oyo State. Anything that will truncate your being in office beyond 2023 will be highly rejected.
