The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has said that its governorship candidate, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, would have fallen victims of the political violence that claimed two lives at Igboora, headquarters of Ibarapa Central local government.

This is just as APC said that the opposition had resorted to using violence to tackle the ruling party because they are jittery of their defeat in the forthcoming election and.

The party’s publicity secretary, Dr Azeez Olatunde stated this on Sunday while speaking on the violence that erupted following Saturday’s visit of the campaign train of the APC.

According to Olatunde, Adelabu was the intended target of the violent attack instigated by the opposition where two persons were reported killed, among which was one person hit with a stray bullet, and some others injured.

But for the proactive intervention of security agencies, Olatunde said Adelabu could have also fallen victim of the violence.

The APC’s statement further read, “The untoward event occurred barely after the APC Guber hopeful, Oloye Bayo Adelabu finished addressing a capacity crowd of supporters who were apparently in the upbeat mood to receive the candidate and his campaign train in the sleepy town.

“The opposition is jittery ahead of their election defeat, hence have resorted to violence
