As Muslims around the world mark the sacred festival of Eid al-Adha, prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and 2027 Oyo gubernatorial hopeful, Dr. Gbenga Adegbola, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community across the state.
Adegbola, a Saki-born retired military officer, commended the spirit of devotion and sacrifice which the festival symbolizes, calling on Muslims to use the occasion to promote peace, unity, and empathy, especially in a time when Nigeria seeks healing and progress.
“Eid al-Adha is a powerful reminder of the values that bind us together — obedience, selflessness, and compassion. As we celebrate, let us renew our commitment to building a more united and prosperous Oyo State,” he said in a goodwill message made available to the press.
He urged Muslim faithful to emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith and obedience, while also encouraging interfaith harmony across communities.
Adegbola, whose growing political profile positions him as a strong contender for the 2027 governorship race in Oyo State, expressed optimism about the future of the state and pledged to prioritize inclusiveness, security, and grassroots development if entrusted with leadership.
“My commitment to the people of Oyo State is rooted in service and integrity. We must begin now to sow the seeds of unity and good governance,” he added.
He concluded his message with prayers for peace, prosperity, and a joyous celebration for all Muslim families.
