Oyo ALGON Issues 24hr Vacation Notice to Immigration Over Alleged Assault on Ibadan North Chairman

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON Oyo State chapter has issued a 24hr ultimatum to the Nigeria Immigration Service to vacate their various offices in all the 33 local government areas of Oyo State.

The Association also request that Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS produce the officers that cause the fracas

The development follows the faceoff between immigration officers and the council chairmen on Wednesday

It was gathered that the two side have casualties during the unholy incident caused by misunderstanding between the chairman and an officer.

Briefing journalist in Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan the stae Chairman, Hon Sikiru Sanda Sikiru Oyedele said the group condemned the assault, molestation and harassment of Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, Hon Sahib Oladayo Yusuff who sustained multiple injuries following the ugly incident.

Hon Sanda who is the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government noted that the actions of the Immigration Operatives negates the position of the Executive Governor of Oyo State who has been championing the safety, peace and security of residents of Oyo State.

Speaking further, Sanda said the sporadic shooting by the officials of Immigration is barbaric. He urged the Comptroller – General of Immigration to produce the officials who perpetrated the dastardly acts within 24hr.

In attendance were chairmen from Akinyele, Oyo East, Atiba, Olorunsogo, Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oluyole, Ibadan North East Local Governments among others.
