Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala , former governor of Oyo state is believed to be in control of all the five local government in the state, though some political analysts are of the opinion that his political influence in the region has reduced based on the fact that some of his team member are no longer with him and aside that the political strength of Senator Adulfatai Buhari a Senator from ogbomoso South and Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi from Surulere ogo- Oluwa and other factors is already militating his political influence in Ogbomoso
Politically, Alao Akala is not ,limited to Ogbomoso alone he also has his tentacles spread across the state and it is being coordinated through destiny group under the leadership of Dr.Kola Balogun, a former commissioner for commerce and industry in his cabinet . so the strength if pulled behind a particular candidate will no doubt boost the chances of such candidate and that is why some of those eyeing to be governor in 2019 are yearning for his support, even when they are not sure whether he will contest on not
