Following the gruesome killings of over thirty worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo by suspected Fulani terrorists, a Yoruba cultural group known as Olofin Adimula Cultural and Traditional Foundation (ACATF), has urged Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye to direct traditionalists to invoke the Gods of the land against the attackers.
The Group in a press signed by its President and Secretary, Alhaji Raheem Sabana and Comrade Akinpelu Adesina, expressed sadness and condemned the dastardly action of the suspected Fulani terrorists, saying that the action was a complete affront on not only Owo people but the entire Yoruba people.
“This is an affront on not only Owo people but to the entire Yoruba people. We are using this medium to appeal to Olowo of Owo Kingdom to place a curse on the killers and also direct traditionalists in the town to invoke the deities of the land against the killers.”
The statement added that the Owo massacre of innocent people by suspected Fulani terrorists has indicated that nowhere is safe in the South-West again .
The Group however called on all governors in the South-West to go back to the drawing board and fashion out new strategies to tackle insecurity in the region before it totally gets out of hand.
The group also stated that it would be going round Yorubaland to meet with traditional rulers on how to resuscitate ancient powers used by their forefathers to protect their kingdoms.
The group also commiserated with the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, the Olowo of Owo Kingdom, the families of the victims and the entire Owo people over the sad occurrence.
