The National coordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress OPC, and founder of OODUA Progressives Union OPU an international socio cultural organization promoting Yoruba culture in the diaspora has been named the 16th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.
The confirmation was announced by of Oyo Alaafin of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi iii in Oyo on sunday
Alaafin said the position of Aare Ona Kakanfo is not a political appointment but a position given to people who are consistent in defending and promoting yorubaland
The appointment was greeted with wide jubilation by many people in Oyo
A letter has been given to him to that effect.
Bola Olalere a media executive while commenting on the development said it is deserving , ‘ we don’t have many like him in Yorubaland who is raising the Yoruba consciousness across the globe.
