Osun state chapter of People Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to disrupt its primaries slated for Saturday
The party Chairman of Hon Soji Adagunodo, in a press statement made available to journalists in Osogbo on Wednesday disclosed that the party was “in possession of credible intelligence to the effect that the All Progressives Congress is planning to disrupt the PDP governorship primaries holding on Saturday.”
He alleged that chieftains of the APC held several meetings with notorious thugs in a location in the state to hatch plans of causing mayhem during the primary election.
According to him, “desperate plans of the APC was borne out of the party’s fears about what a successful PDP primaries portends for the party in the governorship election holding in September.
“We therefore call on the State Commissioner of police, the Director of the State Security Service, the Commandant of the Civil Defence Corp and other security agencies to ensure maximum security before and during the exercise which will involve over 3000 party members.
“We also urge the security agencies to beam their search light on some chieftains of the APC who have been notorious for perpetrating violence using hoodlums often referred to as state boys by Governor Rauf Aregbesola”
