The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has raised concerns over an alleged plot to destabilize the state by enforcing what he described as a “non-existent court judgment” on the local government administration.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Governor Adeleke accused the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, of orchestrating the plan in collaboration with top security officials in the state.

He alleged that the Osun State Commissioner of Police, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Commandant of the Civil Defence Corps were working with Oyetola to enforce the reinstatement of sacked local government chairmen.

According to the governor, the alleged move is illegal and a threat to peace, as the court ruling being cited does not contain a consequential order for reinstatement.

He emphasized that two separate Federal High Court judgments had sacked the council officials before his administration took office.

“The Court of Appeal did not reinstate the sacked chairmen and councilors. The only legal recourse available to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is to appeal to the Supreme Court, not to take the law into their own hands,” Adeleke said.

He called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene by directing security agencies not to execute what he described as an illegal order.

“The Nigerian public should hold Mr. Gboyega Oyetola and the Osun State security chiefs responsible for any breakdown of law and order in the state,” he warned.

Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the rule of law and maintaining peace in Osun State, urging the public to resist any attempts to impose illegality.
