Highest decision making organ of the Yoruba Diaspora organization, the Oodua Progressives Union (OPU) has appointed former Europe coordinator,Chief Victor Mobolaji Adewale as the new Publicity Secretary of the organization.
Chief Adewale’s appointment was contained in a letter duly signed by the secretary of OPU Worldwide Executive,Engr.Lanre Sunmonu, as approved and ratified by the global convener,and the Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land,Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams,at the OWE extraordinary session held on Monday, November 7, 2022.
According to OWE’s statement, the appointment, which takes effect immediately, was in recognition of his hardwork and commitment to the progress of OPU and Yoruba race in particular.
Speaking shortly after his appointment, Chief Victor Adewale,who was the former Europe coordinator of OPU and the Akingbayi Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land,said the new position was a call to service, and a big opportunity to take up more duty and responsibility in the overall interest of the group and Yoruba race at large.
“I feel highly honoured by this new appointment.It is a testimony of my little efforts as a former coordinator of OPU Europe.
“It is also a call to higher service.I am,indeed, very grateful for the opportunity given to me to serve at this level of our organization.
“As far as I am concerned, I am ready to do my best in the interest of our great organization and to also project the OPU and Yoruba race positively.
“It is my desire also to raise the bar in service delivery by ensuring that OPU remains the leading diaspora organization in the world.”
The OPU worldwide publicity scribe, however, expressed gratitude to the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land and global convener of OPU,Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams and all the OWE executive for counting him worthy of taking up such sensitive position.
He also promised to work with other executive members of OWE in their desires to promote the ideals of the organization and Yoruba race at large.
