Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams has said Yoruba in diaspora will not be left out in the scheme of development and economic stability in the proposed Oodua Republic.
Adams who is the Initiator of Oodua Progressives Union OPU, a social cultural organization of Yoruba in the diaspora disclosed this while speaking *with Yoruba group’s and OPU members in Brazil , Ecuador, French Guyana and other South* American countries via a zoom meeting on Sunday.
The Opc leader and Convener OPU world wide who acknowledge and appreciate the advocacy and awareness creation roles play by the people the diaspora said their role is complementing the efforts of the people at home who are at the war front.
He expresses optimism that many yoruba people in the diasporal will return home to be part of the system and stabilize the Yoruba Nation because we would have a nation of our own to be proud of.
“I believe within 8- 10 years Yoruba land will be like Europe, We will prioritize the social welfare, replicate the care for women and people will no longer have the urge to travel abroad while those abroad will be willing to come home and continue their lives and businesses.
” We have a lot of Yoruba people who are making great contributions to the socio-economic and infrastructural development of other Nations of the world and they didn’t come home because Nigerian goverment will not give them the opportunity to use their wealth of experience but when we have yoruba nation,they will come and use what they have to develop the region
“It is sad and disturbing that we belong to a nation that has no respect for the rule of law and fundamental human right and that was what led to the agitation for Oodua Nation, and i am sure by the time we get achieve our Nation,we will not only be far better we everybody will have a nation they can be proud of
” I don’t get involve in anything when i am not sure of the future, i am very sure and optimistic that Oodua Republic will work and its benefits cannot be quantify, apart from the economic and political stability, we will also have a place we can call our home.
While harping on the need for yoruba people to Unite, Aare said it is important to unite not on cohesion but unity of purpose with the aim of achieving our goals.
Some of the participants and contributors at the meeting commended Aare Gani Adams for his efforts and urge him not to relent in his efforts in championing the cause of Yoruba Nation.
