The Executive chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, has lost one of his aide, Hon. Sulaimon Akande, popularly known as Lexyman Small.
Akande passed away on Saturday in Ibadan after a brief illness.
His untimely death has cast a shadow over the political and youth circles in oyo PDP, as tributes continue to pour in from colleagues, friends, and party members.
Until his passing, Lexyman was widely recognized as one of the most dynamic and promising youth figures in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State. Known for his dedication, grassroots mobilization, and loyalty, he was a key member of Hon. Olatunji’s team and a vocal advocate for youth inclusion in governance.
In a statement released by the PDP, the party’s spokesperson, Michael Ogunsina, described Akande’s death as a devastating blow to the youth wing of the party.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of one of our most promising youths in Oyo State and one of the strongest youth voices in Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Sulaimon Akande, also known as Lexyman,” Ogunsina said.
“His time here, though short, was impactful. He will be sorely missed by all of us who truly knew and worked with him. Till we meet to part no more — sun re o, Brother mi.”
Lexyman’s remains will be laid to rest today in accordance with Islamic rites.
The Oluyole Local Government, PDP family, and youth groups across Oyo State have expressed deep sorrow over the loss, remembering him as a vibrant, humble, and committed public servant.
