Olugbense of Agurodo, Oba Joseph Oyekale, to Be Buried August 30

The final royal burial ceremony of the late Olugbense of Agurodo, His Royal Majesty Oba Joseph Oyeleye Oyerogba Oyekale (Idowu II), will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Agurodo, Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State.

Oba Oyekale, who passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 85, was a respected monarch and patriarch of the Oyekale Dynasty.

According to the burial announcement by the family, the funeral arrangements will begin with a Christian Wake on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Olugbense’s Palace, Agurodo, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The Church Service and Thanksgiving will hold the following day, Saturday, August 30, at First Baptist Church, Agurodo, by 11:00 AM, followed by the entombment at the palace and a grand reception at the Old Baptist Day School Field, Agurodo.
