Olubadan, NUJ, Hon Dapo Lam Adesina Mourns Oyo Speaker’s Death

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 has expressed shock and disbelief over the death of the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Michael Adeyemo which sad event occured in the early hour of today.

Olubadan in a press statement signed by.Adeola Oloko Personal Assistant / Director of Media and Public Affairs recalled that at recent meetings when he met the late speaker, the young man who was hale and hearty would go out of his way to come and pay him homage, “Unfortunately, death is not a letter that is bodly written on human face and nobody knows who is next” Oba Adetunji said.

The first class monarch noted that as a monarch and father, his wish and prayer to God is that the youngsters in our midst should outlive the old and the aged but regretted that God who is sovereign does whatsoever He pleases as God is the ultimate decider of human life.

According to the royal father, the passage of the Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker, unpleasant as the news may sound, is a cause for sober reflection for us all. He therefore mourned the loss of the political giant and condoled with his family, the members of the State House of Assembly and the Oyo State Government. He prayed to God to give all his family, friends, political associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Also, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Oyo State Council has expressed shock over the sudden death of the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Michael Adeyemo.

The NUJ in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Comrades Adewumi Faniran and Bola Ogunlayi says the Union is particularly disturbed with the death of the speaker at his prime.

More worrisome is the fact that the death came on the heels of clamour for power shift to the youths from the older generation.

The Union commiserates with Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, all members of the State House of Assembly, the immediate family and parents of the late Speaker.

The NUJ, which also commiserates with the entire people of Ibarapa area of the state and Oyo State in general prays God to grant the wife, children and parents of Rt. Honourable Adeyemo the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In another development , HOn Dapo lame Adesina the Member, representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives,has condoled with the family and the Oyo State House of Assembly over the death of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Michael Adeniyi Adeyemo.

Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina described the news of the death of the Speaker as shocking and a great blow to our nascent democracy.

He described Hon. Adeyemo as a peace loving individual, who always strived for the progress of Oyo State and Nigeria in general.
