The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I), has congratulated Muslim faithful across the world on the successful completion of the 2026 Ramadan fasting and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
The message was contained in a press release issued on Wednesday and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga.
In his goodwill message, the paramount ruler joined Muslims globally in celebrating the end of the 30-day fasting period, expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for preserving lives to witness the occasion.
“I join Muslims globally to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr for this year and thank Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to see the end of the 30-day fasting period,” the monarch said.
Oba Ladoja urged Muslim faithful not to lose sight of the spiritual lessons of Ramadan, particularly the importance of abstaining from sin, repentance, forgiveness, constant devotion to Allah, and extending generosity to others, especially the less privileged.
He further noted that Nigeria is currently confronted with numerous challenges, including insecurity, poverty, hunger, and economic hardship, stressing the need for continued prayers for divine guidance for the nation’s leaders.
The monarch also reminded Muslims that Eid-el-Fitr goes beyond celebrations, urging them to reflect on their service to Allah and humanity, while promoting religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
“Celebration of Eid-el-Fitr is not only about feasting but also about reflecting on our service to Allah and humanity, especially in promoting religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence,” he added.
The Olubadan recalled that the Ramadan period, which commenced last month, featured various activities such as lectures, prayers, charity outreach, and visits to the less privileged, all aimed at spiritual upliftment and communal support.
