The Olubadan-designate of Ibadanland, His Royal Majesty Oba (Senator) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has issued a strong call to all traditional rulers within Ibadanland to resist land grabbing, avoid crisis, and shun any act capable of tarnishing the image of the Olubadan institution and the Ibadan Advisory Council.
Speaking through the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Amidu Salawudeen Ajibade, during a meeting with royal fathers at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, on Monday, Oba Ladoja warned that any traditional ruler found aiding or abetting land grabbing or other criminal acts will face serious consequences.
“You must realise that anywhere you are, you are representing the Olubadan of Ibadanland, his Advisory Council and Ibadanland at large. Consequently, you must monitor the Mogajis and Baales under you to protect the dignity and integrity of Ibadanland,” Oba Ladoja stated.
He urged all sons, daughters, and residents of Ibadan to continue to pray for peace, unity, and the overall development of Ibadanland, emphasizing the importance of maintaining harmony and upholding the cultural values of the land.
Earlier in his remarks, the Alakinyele of Akinyele, Oba (Dr) James Oluyemi Odeniran, noted that the visit was to formally offer condolences on the passing of the late Olubadan, Oba Olakulehin, and to pledge allegiance to the incoming monarch.
The gathering drew a host of royal dignitaries including Oba (Sir) Kolawole Adegbola, Otun Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez, Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland; alongside other Royal Highnesses, Mogajis, and Baales.
