Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Primaries, , stakeholders in Oyo North Senatorial District adopted Hon Akinwole Akinwale as thier candidate.
Thier position was revealed during the meetings with Akinwole Akinwale who on Thursday and friday embarked on familiarization tour of 10 local government in Oke Ogun area of the state
During the tour he met with party stakeholders including, Council chairmen, Councilors, local and ward executives of the party and some notable leaders who pronounced him as their anointed candidate.
The two days tour started on Thursday in Iseyin recorded a huge success as the stakeholders did not only promised to work for the PDP candidates during the election but also vow to ensure the re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde.
In his speech, the Ogbomoso born said he decided to embark on the tour to relate and further cement the relationship that is between them.
” I dont want to wait till the party primaries before we meet, i decided to come here personally to have a physical interaction which i belief will help us to know areas where we need to work on in preparation for the 2023 general election.
‘ There is no doubting the fact that the state governor Engineer Seyi Makinde is making us proud with his achievements and the only way to maintain the trend is to ensure his re-election and that of all other PDP candidates during 2023 election.
He however urge the stakeholders to mobilize for more party members and ensure that members of the public register and get their voter cards which is a weapon to vote the candidates of their choice in 2023.
Notable leaders including two former chairmen of PDP,. Chief Omokunmi Mustapha, Chief Dokun Adegbite others include Alh O.K Sallam, Chief farohunbi, Alh Alaka, Alhaji Doogo among others received Hon Wolekanle and his entourage in their homes advised him to be a good team player who must involved everybody in the journey.
” You are the party’s choice, we will stand by you to ensure that you win the election, although some of our people believe it is the turn of Oke Ogun to produce the Senator but since the Governor is choosing a deputy governor from our zone, then Senatorial goes to Ogbomoso since we share the same Senatorial district’ Said Chief Kunmi Mustapha”
Alh Mustapha who is the immediate past chairman of the party added that” we will appeal to our people to support you and by the grace of God our efforts will not be in vain
Various leaders at the local government in their separate remarks tasks Wolekanle not to betray the confidence they are reposing on him.
The familiarization tour which was led by the Senatorial chairman Hon Yusuff Kunle and other senatorial executives others are Chairman Iwajowa local government Hon Jeleel Oyinloye, Hon Femi Ogunyale, Ridwan Olajide were all in his entourage
