The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal has showered praise on the Chairman, Governor’s Advisory Council Committee, Senator Hosea Agboola commonly known as ‘Halleluyah’ for encouraging unity among PDP members in Oke-Ogun.
Bayo Lawal gave the commendation on Sunday at his Bashorun, Ibadan home, after reports of a meeting between Senator Halleluyah and other PDP leaders in Oke-Ogun surfaced through social media.
Halleluyah, who on Saturday hosted some stakeholders of the party in the zone at his Igbojaye residence in Itesiwaju Local Government, said he started to suspect foul play when he discovered that residents of Itesiwaju were not among the Oke-Ogun chosen stakeholders and leaders who met with the Deputy Governor last Monday to congratulate him.
He was quoted as saying, “Barrister Bayo Lawal sees the inside of the government, and we must support him as a leader”.
Halleluyah noted that his relationship with the incumbent Deputy Governor is a father-son and brothers-like kind of relationship, cautioning those fanning the embers of disunity among party members in Oke-Ogun to stay away.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal, described Senator Agboola as a promoter of peace and core party man for dousing tension among PDP leaders of Oke-Ogun when he met with them.
“We need to come together, particularly now that all well-meaning Oke Ogun sons and daughters are looking beyond party affinities to re-elect Governor Seyi Makinde for the zone’s ongoing growth.”
“To avoid needless provocation, I am pleading with our members and other supporters not to make aggressive or inflammatory statements”.
Bayo Lawal advised party members to avoid politics of resentment, hostility, or violence, as he expressed confidence that the party, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, will triumph in the upcoming general election in 2023.
