Ogbomoso people have reaffirmed their support for Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, pledging continued loyalty to his leadership beyond 2027.
This declaration came during the Stakeholders Consultative Meeting on the 2026 Budget, held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Ajaawa Township Hall in Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area, Ogbomoso Zone.
The meeting, organized by the Oyo State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, provided a platform for citizens, traditional rulers, community leaders, and development stakeholders to contribute to the preparation of the 2026 fiscal plan.
Representing the governor, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, praised Governor Makinde’s commitment to transparency and grassroots participation in governance. He described the governor as “a talk-and-do leader who matches every promise with visible action.”
Oyelade highlighted some recent interventions in Ogbomoso, including the rehabilitation of key road networks across Ogbomoso North and South and the conversion of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital security personnel from contract staff to permanent employees — a move he said has brought joy and stability to many families.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has proven time and again that he leads with compassion, vision, and action. Every region of the state, including Ogbomoso, continues to feel the positive impact of his people-first governance,” he stated.
The Commissioner also reassured residents of the government’s commitment to sustaining peace and security, emphasizing that safety remains central to the region’s economic and social development.
Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, underscored the importance of citizen participation and civic responsibility in the budget process. He urged residents to support the government’s initiatives by engaging constructively and paying their taxes regularly, saying such cooperation ensures that developmental projects reach every community.
“Let me assure you that Governor Seyi Makinde has your interest at heart. This administration is driven by the needs and aspirations of the people,” Prof. Babatunde added.
The meeting was attended by dignitaries including Mr. Ayanleke T.J, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning; Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly; and Oba Adeyeye Oyetunji, who hosted the gathering alongside other royal fathers.
Also in attendance were religious leaders, security agencies, traditional rulers, and representatives of community-based and professional groups across Ogbomoso Zone.
The host chairman, Hon. Seun Ojo of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for sustaining participatory governance, describing Ogbomoso as a proud beneficiary of his visionary leadership.
