The Chairman of Ogbomoso United Football Club, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole (Wolekanle), has assured football fans and supporters that the club will continue to thrive despite challenges.
He gave this assurance while addressing the players and management of the club recently.
According to a statement signed by the club’s media manager, Adetunji Stephen, Wolekanle emphasized that Ogbomoso United was not established for financial gains but as a platform to discover and develop football talents across Ogbomosoland.
Reaffirming his commitment to the club’s progress, Wolekanle noted that since taking charge in 2020, he has remained dedicated to youth empowerment through sports. He also aligned his vision with Governor Seyi Makinde’s agenda for youth development in Oyo State.
“We will not take Ogbomoso United away from you or shut down the team. It is your team, and it has come to stay. We will continue to work hard to be the best in the state and at the national level. This year’s NLO campaign will be an interesting one, and I believe the team will come out stronger despite recent challenges,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Ogbomoso United will host Castle FA in a friendly match on Wednesday before traveling to Osogbo for another fixture against Alaska on Saturday.
