Ogbomoso United FC have emerged champions of the Oyo Alaafin NLO Pre-season Tournament after a convincing 3-1 victory over Rehoboth FC in the final played on Sunday at the Government Technical College field in Awe, Oyo

The Ogbomoso-based side, popularly known as the Wolekanle Boys, dominated proceedings from kickoff, asserting control with attacking intensity and disciplined play.
Their early pressure paid off in the 19th minute when forward Olabode Favour capped a well-worked team move to give Ogbomoso United the lead. The advantage was extended in the 25th minute after striker Shittu Taiwo was fouled in the penalty area, with Ogundeji Abayomi calmly converting from the spot.

Abayomi struck again moments later, producing a brilliant long-range effort to complete his brace and hand Ogbomoso United a comfortable 3-0 lead before halftime.
Rehoboth FC responded in the second half, reducing the deficit through a penalty in the 68th minute. However, Ogbomoso United’s defence remained resolute, successfully containing further threats to seal a deserved 3-1 triumph.
The victory marks a significant boost for the team as they continue preparations for the upcoming Nigerian Nationwide League One (NLO) season, set to commence next month.
Ogbomoso United are expected to further fine-tune their squad by participating in the CMSD NLO Pre-season Championship in Ogbomoso, as they aim to build momentum ahead of the new campaign.
