The O’ First Group, a social cultural organization involved in community services and philanthropic activities has elected officers into its Executive Committee at its annual general meeting held recently in Ogbomoso.
A statement from Barrister Funmilayo Asaolu who emerged as the Social cum Publicity of the Club disclosed that Oloye Ademola Dare- Williams was elected as the President, and Engineer Akinloye Oyekola as the General Secretary.
Other elected officers into the Executive Committee are Mr. Adebayo Egunbiyi as Financial/Assistant Secretary; Barrister Abraham Ojo as Legal Advisor; Commissioner of Police Mr Dejo Oyelowo (Rtd) as Chief Whip and Architect Saura Sakiru as Membership Secretary.
The immediate past President Otunba Bayo Babatunde came on board as an Ex – Official member.
Oloye Ademola Dare – Williams, in his acceptance speech pledged absolute commitment and total dedication towards actualising the laudable programs of the Club.
He said that he alongside the members of the Exco will uphold the ideals of the Club all will join hands to improve upon the current status which had been established by the past administration under the able leadership of Otunba Bayo Babatunde.
Otunba Babatunde while handing over the baton to the President commended members for their unalloyed interests, commitment and dedication to the ideals of the Group.
He acknowledged the financial contributions of the members which ,according to him enhanced the actualization of the people oriented projects notable empowerment of some people through distribution of sewing machines, distribution of exercise books to students among other community service projects.
He disclosed that the Group in collaboration with the NDLEA established a rehabilitation center for people to accommodate victims of dangerous drugs, and enlightenment programs to dissuade them from using such dangerous .
He added that this program is aimed at eradicating the incidence of drug abuse, especially amongst the youths.
Otunba Babatunde then administered the oath of of office on the President who in turn performed similar function on the elected members of the Executive.
