Official Flag off of GSM Livestock Farmers’s Initiatives Holds March 15 in Oyo

GSM Livestock Farmers’ Initiatives, a youth empowerment program sponsored by Oloye Babtunde Ologburo will be officially flag off on Friday 15th March 2024.

The event which is scheduled to commence at 10:am on Friday 15th March,2024,will hold at Anyx Continental Farm, Km12, Iya Ibeji Village along Oyo-Iseyin road, Oyo.

The Oyo born international businessman and philanthropist Oloye Ologburo said the development is to complement the effort of Governor Oluseyi Makinde’s determination to empower youths in Agric business as well as reduce unemployment in the state.

He added that beneficiaries were selected from the youths that participated in at the CSS Global Integrated Farms in Nasarawa State to train 3,300 youths.

Dignitaries expected to grace the occasion includes Hon. Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy matters, Hon. Segun Olayiwola who is also the chairman of the occasion while the special guest of Honour is Honourable Olaleye , Oyo state commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resource.

The project coordinator and Executive Chairman of Oyo West Local Government, Hon Salam Babatunde Olukitibi the training which will commence on Friday 15th March 2024,will run on part time basis at Anyx Continental Farm, Km12, Iya Ibeji Village along Oyo-Iseyin road, Oyo.

He added that participants will be exposed to basic animal husbandry, basic medication/vaccination for small ruminant, basic pasture development, basic irrigation system for pasture development and basic concentrate formulation using locally available farm residue.

“At the end of the project each participant is expected to go home with a startup kit which includes 8 pregnant does, 1 young buck, improved Napiah stem cuttings for ,acre of land,Gliricidia sepium seedling for 1 acre of land valued at One million Naira.”
