Chairman House of Reps Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Value Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi has urges Nigerian Youths to be more proactive in their contributions to the development of the country
The federal lawmaker representing Ogo-Oluwa Surulere federal constituency gave this charge while speaking at the annual Camping exercise of the Royal Ambassadors of Nigeria, Ogbomoso Baptist Conference on Friday 13th August, 2021 ay First Baptist Church, Oko, Oyo-State harps on the need for knowledge acquisition and determination to succeed.
Speaking on the topic “Role of Youths in Curbing Insecurity in Nigeria’, the All Progressives Congress APC Chieftain said Nigeria is blessed with vibrant youths whose commitment to overall development of their fatherland is expected to be of paramount importance.
He also noted that certain peculiarities has brought the prevailing security challenges in Nigeria under serious evaluation of which roles of the youths in surmounting this serious challenge has been consistent in center stage of the discuss.
He maintained Engaging or Dealing in hard or banned substances or Drugs, Political Thuggery, Furgery/Falsiffication of Resources, Engaging in Cyber Crime/Internet Fraud, Proliferation of Fire Arms, Destruction of Public Infrastructures, Robbery, Kidnapping and others constitutes elements of insecurity in Our dear country Nigeria.
“For every identified problem there is need for solution. As far as Nigeria is concerned, the solution becomes simpler when youths resolve to avoid all the aforementioned constituents of insecurity and embrace the opposite of all those elements as a way of playing their expected roles in CURBING insecurity in our Land.
He however commended the Nigerian Baptist Convention and the Royal Ambassador for their efforts in enlightening the youths on the need to work for a better society
