Hon Segun Odebunmi (BUNVIC) today facilitated the delivery of relief materials from The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA for victims affected by rainstorm in various communities within his Federal Constituency. This follows his unrelented intervention towards ameliorating the sufferings of the affected households
A heavy and windy downpour had last month wreck havoc in about 10 communities leaving over 300 properties damaged.
Hon Odebunmi who doubled as the chairman House of Representatives Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Valus informed NEMA and prompt them to take immediate action to relieve his Constituency.
NEMA Zonal Cordinator Lugard Bijimi who led other officials to the community on assessment tour said the agency will bring some relief materials to the community In line with NEMA intervention and palliative rules as well as a way of response to Hon Odebunmi’s request to return smile to the face of his affected constituents. .
Lugard commended Hon Segun Odebunmi for his prompt intervention and informing them about the development ” Your representative at the National Assembly Hon Odebunmi informed us about this and told us that he wants a quick response on this and we will do just as he said because the Representative of Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency is a man who has the interest of his constituents at heart at all times.
The All Progressives Congress APC Chieftain who had earlier disbursed cash, food items and other materials as relief to the victims stated in a brief interview ” let me commend Mr President through NEMA for coming to our aid in ensuring these materials are delivered at this critical period .I will also like to plead with the state Government of Oyo state to assist in contributing it’s quota to what the Federal Government has done ,it is never too late and nothing is too small .
However I want to assure my Constituents that I will continue to be responsive to them as and when required.
Items presented to the communities by NEMA includes; Bags of Cements, roofing sheets, ceiling boards, Zinc Nails, foam mattresses, Blankets, and Treated mosquito nets
Also, food items such as Bags of perboiled rice, Bags of Garri, Bags of salt, Kegs of vegetable oil, tins of tomatoes, seasoning cubes were also donated to the victims.
On of the victims when reacting to this development appreciates Hon Odebunmi for his efforts and call on all government officials to take a que from his dedication.
