The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Michael Adeyebiojo Odunayo Adeagbo Ajayi Arowotawaya II, has described the emergence of Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the Olubadan-designate of Ibadanland as “a testimony of divine providence and collective trust.”
The monarch made the remark during a congratulatory visit to Oba Ladoja at his Ondo Street residence in Bodija, Ibadan, on Saturday.
Welcoming the Elerinmo and his entourage, Oba Ladoja expressed gratitude to the royal father and the people of Erinmo-Ijesa for their goodwill. He called on Yoruba traditional rulers to prioritize peaceful coexistence, unity, and the preservation of Yoruba cultural heritage.
According to him, Yoruba culture is rich and globally respected, and must be safeguarded against any form of erosion.
In his remarks, Oba Ajayi said: “With great joy and heartfelt delight, I extend my warm congratulations on your ascension to the revered throne of Olubadan of Ibadanland. Your emergence is a testimony of divine providence, wisdom, and the collective trust of the great people of Ibadanland.”
He prayed that Oba Ladoja’s reign would usher in peace, unity, and development for Ibadanland and the Yoruba nation at large. The monarch further emphasized the historical significance of the Olubadan stool and prayed that Ladoja’s reign be marked with wisdom, prosperity, long life, and remarkable achievements that would uplift the dignity of the Yoruba race.
The visit was formally acknowledged by Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
