Oba Ladoja Tasks Traditional Chiefs on Upholding Ibadan’s Honour

The Imperial Majesty Oba ( Senator ) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1) the Olubadan of Ibadanland has charged the traditional rulers in Ibadan to be good ambassadors of Ibadanland anywhere they are and should do away with any action that can tanish the good image of the ancient city

The charge was given during the promotion exercise of seven Senior Chiefs that took place at the Banquet Hall, Olubadan palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan on Friday

The paramount ruler in a statement signed by Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga,the Chief Press Secretary to Olubadan of Ibadanland seized the opportunity to once again remind the traditional rulers to ensure the onerous task of peaceful co – existence, security of life and prosperity, urban renewal as well as economic emancipation is achieved

According to Oba Ladoja, rebuilding of modern Ibadan is a collective responsibility which should be the concern of the residents, indigenes within and in diaspora

The elevated Senior Chiefs were Chief Rasheed Olalekan Alabi from Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland to Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Ismaila Akinade Fijabi from Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadanland to Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland,Chief Saka Fola Lapade from Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadanland to Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Teslim Folariim from Aare Alaasa Olubadan of Ibadanland to Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadanland

Other Senior Chiefs elevated were Chief Muibi Ademola Adewuyi from Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland to Aare Alaasa Olubadan of Ibadanland while both Senior Chief Raufu Yesufu Delesolu promoted from Asaaju Olubadan of Ibadanland to Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chief Hammed Adetunji Lanihun moved from Ayingun Olubadan of Ibadanland to Asaaju Olubadan of Ibadanland were absent but represented by Messers Soliu Ayinde Delesolu and Sulaimon Tunde Lanihun respectively

Dignitaries from all walks of life that graced the occasion were Oba (Barr ) Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr)Kolawole Adegbola Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Abiodun Kola -Daisi Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland , Oba Salawudeen Hamidu Ajibade the Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dauda Abiodun Azees Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Muritala Adebayo Akande Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland,Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland and High Chief (Barr) Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli the Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland

Other important personalities that attended the elevation program were other traditional rulers, business tycoons, market leaders and security agents among others
