The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council on Monday expressed satisfaction with the milestone achievements of the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji who clocked 46years.
Adedeji, an Oyo State indigene was former Commissioner for Finance during the first term administration of the late former Governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi between 2011-2015.
A press release by the NUJ Chairman, Ademola Babalola which was made available to the media by the Secretary, Sola Oladapo described Adedeji as a blessing to the people of the State and humanity in general.
According to Babalola, “Dr Zacch Adedeji is a friend of the media and an accomplished financial expert, who recently appointed one of the Executive Members of Oyo NUJ Council, Dare Adekanmbi as Special Adviser on Media.
“Adedeji’s support to NUJ dated back to over a decade ago when he supported the efforts to equip the Pen Group of Schools owned by the Union with a sum of two million naira during the tenure of former NUJ Chairman, Gbenga Opadotun (Ekuro).
“Fondly called Zacch, the FIRS Chairman had since then been identifying with the Union, and he is one of the very few indigenes of the State in the position of authority with the mindset to always give back to the people.
“A philanthropist of note, Zacch Adedeji remains a vibrant, young and efficacious figure and one of the best brains from the State, contributing his quota towards the economic growth of the Nigerian nation.
“At 46, Dr Zacch Adedeji still has decades ahead to contribute more meaningfully to nation building and greater prosperity of his home State, Oyo. It is our prayers that God should spare his life to do more for humanity in general,” the statement added.
