The Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Oyo State Council , Hon Shina Abiola Peller, Federal, Lawmwker representing Iseyin ,Itesiwaju, Iwajowa and Kajola constituency, Chief Niyi Akintola SAN and Mogaji Joseph Tegbe have condemned the wanton killings in Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government of the state.

NUJ in a statement signed by its Chairman, Ademola Babalola and Secretary, Sola Oladapo described the killings as inhuman, cruel and barbaric.
It called on security agencies in the state, both uniformed and un-uniformed, to be more proactive in tackling the ugly trend.
The NUJ lamented the wanton killings and destruction of properties, saying the actions was avoidable if appropriate authorities evolve adequate measures and acts to time, on the intelligence information at their disposals.
The union called on both the federal and state governments to put in place adequate measures aimed at forestalling the ugly trend, because the citizens are living in palpable fears with the daily spike in bloodletting across the land.
It sympathised with victims of the dastardly act, calling on government to ensure they are adequately compensated for their losses.
The NUJ called for the convocation of security summit in the state aimed at finding a lasting solution to the ugly trend.
It also admonished the authorities to be more alive to their responsibilities of safety of lives and property of the people.
Chief Adeniyi Akintola, SAN who condemned the incessant wastage of lives and properties of our people in IGANGANand Ibarapa area in general said the attacks are becoming once too many and should be addressed by the authorities immediately to avert resort to self help and total breakdown of law and order.
He commiserates with the people and the leadership of IGANGAN community and Ibarapa North local government in general for the loss of irreplaceable lives and valuable properties. He prays for God’s guidance for the leadership in taking the right measures to checkmate the activities of the blood thirsty vampires and their sponsors.
APC Chieftain, Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe who was in Ibarapa area of the state where he hosted an empowerment program facilitated by Omigborotiti Foundation , Tegbe sympathized with the indigenes of Igangan and the entire Ibarapa land on the painful loss of loved ones and properties to the needless fracas.
He also called on the Inspector General of Police to ensure that the hotspots for banditry and terror are well equipped with personnel and machinery to tackle the skyrocketing insecurity in Oyo and other states.
He also urged traditional rulers and citizens to ensure they report suspicious activities before they get out of hand
Tegbe, the founder of Tegbe Foundation was at Lanlate to flag off an empowerment programme facilitated by Omigborotiti Foundation. sympathizes with the indigenes of Igangan and the entire Ibarapa land on the painful loss of loved ones and properties to the needless fracas and called on the Inspector General of Police to make sure that the hotspots for banditry and terrorism are well equipped with personnel and machinery to tackle the skyrocketing insecurity in Oyo and other states.
Shina Peller in a statement signed by his media aide Kola Popoola said the ugly incident that happened yesterday in Igangan, Ibarapa local government area of Oyo State remains disheartening and calls for a more proactive measure in securing lives and properties of innocent citizens. It was a gory incident that should never be allowed to reoccur.
Also, the perpetrators of this attack on the innocent indigenes must be found and brought to book by all reasonable means.
Importantly, the time for everyone of us to be more security conscious and vigilant than ever is now. We need to pay more attention to happenings around us and promptly report any suspicious movement in our communities to the appropriate authorities.
