NSCDC Deploys 150 Personnel To Crisis Affected Area In Oyo

Oyo State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya has ordered the deployment of no fewer than 150 Personnel of the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) to some crisis prone areas in the State.

Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya through a signed copy of a press release by the State Command Public Relation Officer, CD Oluwole Olusegun called on the people of the State to support the personnel and other security agencies in the State to achieve a safer society.

Akinsanya also maintained that the deployment became necessary because of the recent security challenges witnessed in the State.

According to the copy of the statement made available to The #SouthwesternNewsUpdates: in Ibadan the Oyo State Capital on Monday qouted Commandant Akinsanya to have issued the deployment order at the Command Headquarters in Agodi Ibadan, during the Monthly recap of security activities across the State, with the aim of forestalling peace, uphold order, and install unity among people of the area.

The deployed 150 personnel as said by Commandant Akinsanya will be working with already existing Agro Rangers to maintain peace and order in the affected areas.

However Akinsanya through the statement announced the creation of additional three (3) area Commands to the existing six (6) areas in the state to make it nine (9) areas commands.

The three newly created area Commands are Area G- Egbeda, Area H- Kishi and Area I – Shaki.

Commandant Akinsanya noted that the security of the State should not be limited to government alone, stressing that all hands should be on deck to ensure safety lives and properties in the State.

Akinsanya however warned those that are hell bent on causing crisis in the state to desist from such act as anybody caught will be punished according to the law, he also urge the citizens and residents of the State to stop attaching ethnic or religious colouration to crime or criminality.

He urged the entire citizenry of the State to join hand with NSCDC and other Security agencies to end menace of kidnapping, banditry, Cultism, robbery, child-abuse and other vices in the State.

Akinsanya enjoined the Citizens of the State to always contact NSCDC control room whenever there is any breach of law in their vicinity or before it happened on 08037149457,09070473188 and 07089419444.

In a similar development, Commandant Akinsanya appreciate the State NSCDC Contigent for their well representation at the last 2020 Military and Paramilitary Games that recently held in Abuja, where they have performed excellently well by bringing home Seven Gold, with Four Silver Medals.
