.In a significant move, the Nationwide League One (NLO) has lifted the assault charges against four individuals from Ogbomoso United Football Club following an incident during the 2024 NYML/NLO One League season at the Ibadan center.
The individuals involved are Ebere Success, Kamalideen Ridwan, Shittu Ismail, and Atoyebi Stephen, who were initially accused of assaulting match officials.
In a formal communication, the NLO’s Chief Operating Officer, Olushola Ogunnowo, stated that the ban and sanctions placed on the players and officials have been lifted after a thorough review of the incident.
“After careful consideration of the letter of appeal submitted by your club to the NLO, we are pleased to inform you that the ban and sanctions placed on the aforementioned players and officials are hereby void,” Ogunnowo said.
The decision comes in recognition of the club’s commitment to uphold the values of sportsmanship and professionalism in future engagements. The NLO has advised the individuals involved to maintain exemplary conduct and act as good ambassadors of the sport going forward.
