The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cautioned Nigerians to beware of fraudulent recruitment advertisements circulating on various unauthorized websites. In a press statement issued on April 4, 2025, and signed by the Comptroller General, KN Nandap, the Service clarified that no recruitment exercise is currently ongoing, advising members of the public to disregard any claims to the contrary.

According to the release, the NIS conducts its recruitment exercises in a transparent, free, and merit-based manner. Official announcements are made only through its recognized channels, including the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) website at www.cdcfib.gov.ng. The NIS further urged individuals to avoid engaging with unverified online portals claiming to offer employment opportunities in the Service.

The statement also noted that the NIS is working closely with law enforcement agencies to track and prosecute those behind the fraudulent advertisements. Members of the public were encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities or websites to the relevant authorities.

For further information or clarification, the NIS provided several official telephone numbers, reiterating its commitment to ensuring that recruitment processes remain fair, transparent, and secure for all prospective applicants.
