The Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi has charged the Polytechnic, Ibadan contingent to the 20th edition of Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA) commencing in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Saturday, 8th February


Professor Adebiyi gave the charge on Monday while addressing the contingent during a brief ceremony held at the institution’s sports’ pavillion at the North Campus.


Professor Adebiyi who noted that it was the year of Golden Anniversary of The polytechnic urged the athletes to go for gold as part of the institution’s golden anniversary.


While charging the athletes to be good ambassadors of the institution during the Games, professor Adebiyi said the competition is not about medals alone, but equally about image building and reputation preservation.

The Deputy Rector, Mrs Abiodun Olubunmi Olubamiwa, The Registrar Mrs Modupe Theresa Fawale, the institution’s sports Advisory committee chairman, Mrs Olaide Salawu as well as the chief sports Coach, Dr Babatunde Akeredolu who spoke during the brief ceremony also charged the students to put in their very best during the Games.
