Scores of Nigerians in Kumasi Ghana on October 1st gathered to celebrate their country’s 57th independence anniversary and pray for the country .
The event which was held at the palace of Oba Yoruba in Kumasi.(Akwatialine beside WAEC office in Kumasi) was organized by Nigeria Yoruba Ministry Association and Yoruba Community in Kumasi in co junction with Oba Ahmed Olugbon., Oba Yoruba in Kumasi
The theme of the event was pray for Peace and Unity of Nigeria, Ghana and Africa in General
In his brief message, the guest speaker, Rev Dr Soji Ajeigbe highlighted some of the problems militating against unity and growth of Nigerian
Dr Ajeigbe who read from the book of psalm 122 listed the security challenges , corruption , activities of the Fulani herdsmen and political instability as some of the giants affecting Nigeria.
He expresses optimism that the country would overcome her challenges if the people return to God and and obey his command.
The Chairman of the Occasions. Alhaji Ahmed Aminu Olugbon the Oba Yoruba of Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana also share the guest speaker’s view on the solution to Nigeria’s problem saying
‘Peace and Unity can be achieved in Nigeria and Africa as a whole if we did not allow ethnicity and religion sentiment to overwhelm our sense of belonging and commitment to our dear nation’
The special event also features special prayer for Nigeria, praise and worship and lectures
