The Nigerian Army has confirmed the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna State by some bandits in the early hours of today.
One officer was reportedly killed and two Army majors were abducted during the attack.
The Academy Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Muhd Jajira, in a release, described the attack as a “security breach of [the] Nigerian Defence Academy Architecture.
“The security architecture of the Nigerian Defence Academy was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka,” the release stated.
However, Major Jajira, contrary to the reported killing of one personnel and abduction of two others, said in the release that “during the unfortunate incident, we lost two personnel and one was abducted.”
He assured of the safety of the cadets and the NDA community and further disclosed that the Nigerian Army, the Air Training Command and other security agencies within Kaduna State are already in pursuit of the unknown gunmen.
“The Academy, in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna State, has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area, to track them and rescue the abducted personnel.
