A member of the House of Representatives representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Oyo State, Honourable Shina Peller, has called on patriotic Nigerians to stop allowing political godfathers take undue advantage of their differences to cause division and hatred among the masses.

Honourable Peller made this call via his social media platforms, where he observed that in the nation’s diversity lies her strength. He recalled that the nation’s multiple ethnic groups, diverse languages and cultures have always been the golden gem for Nigerians but that lately rogue elements within and outside the country have been leveraging on these differences to cause division just to fulfil their own hidden agendas.

In addition, he said there is need for restoration of national unity across ethnic and cultural lines, and that to achieve this, all well-meaning Nigerians, not selected few, must be given the chance to exercise their right and play their roles freely in the rebuilding process of Nigeria.

“In diversity there is beauty and strength, we are of course a nation of differences, but those differences shouldn’t make us weak. They are the source of our strength.

“The multiple ethnic groups, languages and cultures have always been our golden gems, but of late, rogue elements (internally and externally) have been causing divisions to accomplish their own hidden agendas. Nigeria is ripe for the restoration of national unity across ethnic and cultural lines. To ensure this, we must know that Nigeria belongs to Nigerians, not an elite few or godfathers, or selected ethnic groups. It’s high time to be fair and give Nigerians the chance to rebuild our dear nation. Let’s do it together!”
