Nigeria@ 61: Odebunmi, Wolekanle, Shina Peller Open Salawu Urge Nigerians to Embrace Peace, Unity

Nigerians including, Hon Segun Dokun Odebunmi, Hon Shina Peller, Engineer Open Salawu and Hon Akinwale Akinwole have called on Nigerians to

embrace love, unity and peace to enhance sustainable development and growth.

They said this in their message to Nigerians at 61st independence anniversary.

Hon Shina Peller, a member of the House of Representatives from Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Hon. Shina Peller in his remark called on Nigerians to reflect deeply on the country’s existence as a sovereign nation with a view to correcting the wrong and making the country better.

Hon. Peller in his goodwill message to Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 61st Independence anniversary reminded all that Nigeria’s strength lies in her unity in diversity and that for the country to progress appropriately, there is need for all to embrace love, unity and peace which he said can be achieved if everyone is fair in his/her dealings with fellow compatriots irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliation.

Hon Segun Odebunmi, Chairman House committe on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Value said “As we grow in number, we must remind ourselves that nothing is as good as living in an independent and self-sustaining nation. In our diversity we must continue to work toward the prosperity and betterment of our dear country.

The All Progressives Congress from Surulere/ Ogo Oluwa federal constituency maintained that”As politicians, we must rise to the great task of building trust between the people and the nation so we can have peace and stability in our country. Everyday brings us closer to this goal.

Engineer Open Salawu, a chieftain of the Progressive Congress APC said “Insecurity is overwhelming the wonderful program of the federal government and the situation can be rescue if governance can be more inclusive.

He added that “The Local Government are too idle for the kind of development that can solve the problem on ground. However We deliberately or Ignorantly killed the function of the local government that are actually closer to the people. The quality of the people in charge of our local Government is also a big issue to be look into for productivity.”

Babalaje of Ogbomosoland said further that wonderful Agric and Society intervention program could have been brilliantly executed by the local Government if they have the capacity.

“The youths need to be rapidly engaged and channels their Energy to production that will better themselves and the Nation at large.
We have reason to celebrate. Happy Independence Day.

Akinwole Akinwole, a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party PDP and an entrepreneur said “It won’t be too much to pray for our nation as well as our leaders especially those who are making efforts to ensure that the cord of our existence remains intact because I do believe that not all of them are bad”

“If we look at the rate of developments in Oyo state since the Seyi Makinde led administration came onboard one will not only see a will to serve but a clear cut vision also for total emancipation and that is the more reason we as people of the state should complement the goods works by cooperating with the government in every way necessary”
