The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Area of Oyo State and son of former governor, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao-Akala, has described the consensus arrangement of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) that produced the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, as the new chairman of the forum on Wednesday as historic and confirmation of unity in diversity among the governors.

Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala made this assertion in a congratulatory message to the new Chairman of the forum. “It is a great development that for the first time in 20years of the NGF’s existence, a true nationalist from the southwestern part of Nigeria, was unanimously chosen as its chairman. While I laud the smart and right decision of the Nigeria governors, I congratulate His Excellency Governor John Kayode Fayemi on his additional role in the governance of Nigeria”.

“Your Excellency’s victory is a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence your colleagues have in your ability to lead the forum with a view to forming partnerships with the relevant authorities and individuals towards the progress of our country” he said.

The council boss noted that the Nigeria governors’ display of high level of political maturity should be emulated by Nigeria politicians most especially the elected governors who are due for inauguration in the next couple of days. He then urged the incoming governors to support and cooperate with the new chairman, Gov. Kayode Fayemi, towards  sustaining the ideals which gave birth to the forum for it to remain as the baston of good governance and leadership in the country.”
